Royal Shakespeare Co....

*This is the conclusion of the modern adaptation:

Write a brief response to the following prompt: "How does the ending of a work not appropriately conclude the work"

*Here is the link to the video if you are not going on the field trip... my expectation is that you watch the film, complete the prompt (complete a brief evaluation of an artist's interpretation of a work) and include specific evidence from the performance in your response - deadlines are Monday for odd / Tuesday for even.

(give the video a minute or two to load / you must be signed into to view)

Act V + Hamlet Exam

I thought it might be helpful for you to watch at least one adaptation of how the final scene goes down.  There are some elements of this version that I think are particularly successful but we can talk about it next time.  Enjoy!

Also, don't forget there is an exam coming up so let me know if you have any questions. --- Stelzner

Oh, and here is a little commentary about Fortinbras by the director.....

Kenneth Branagh on "To Be Or Not To Be"....

I found this interview really informative.  As Hamlet is meant to be seen and not read there is certainly some value in understanding how actors and directors work through such an iconic piece of text.  It's only about 4 minutes.

Let me know if you have any questions

Missed Class

Just a reminder for those who are coming into class late or are missing class you are responsible for the material that you miss.  You should make attempts to get class notes and follow where we are in the text by checking the appropriate homework calendar.

Also I know we are a bit behind so I haven't had time in class but if you get a chance I would appreciate it if you could take a minute or two and complete the Silver Chips survey.

As always please email me with any questions
