film link and prompt

After viewing the film please briefly respond to the following prompt (paragraph or two)

Some forms of art use violence for a specific purpose. The inclusion of the horrific deaths of Kid Sampson, McWatt, Micheala, and Snowden highlight a key theme in Heller's satire. How does Saving Private Ryan use violence for a specific purpose? What is that purpose? Do you see similar themes between the two pieces of art? What are they?

Please let me know if you have any questions-- (and work on your essays!)

Catch 22 final paper

Hey all

I really hope everyone got something out of the reading.  Yeah, I know you may not have loved the book, hated the plot, it was long and all that but I do really hope that you appreciate the level of mastery of the writing in the text.

At this point you should begin outlining a strategy for the Catch 22 final paper.  I have added a link on the website with extra sources to use in the composition of your argument.  Please see me with any questions
